YES YOU'LL BE WAITING FOR HOURS SO BRING YOUR WORK WITH YOU TO KEEP YOU BUSY AND plenty of patients
I was extremely disappointed with the office. I chose Dr Ugarte because he was the Hospice doctor for my Mom and he was very kind and compassionate. The first visit was a disaster. My appointment was at 10:15, but 3 hours later still was not seen!!! They put me in a file room with the EKG machine and forgot about me!!! When my daughter finally went to inquire about when I would be seen, they informed her that the doctor had left over an hour ago to the ER. When were they going to let me know so I could be given the option of rescheduling?? Another hour later I left and rescheduled. A week later my appointment was at 9:15. The doctor didn't even come into the office until after 10:00. A nurse did take my vitals, history and an EKG. Three hours later, still had not been seen!!! When I went to inquire again, was told that the doctor was in a meeting and did not know how long he would be!!! At this point, I decided to go with another doctor. The business manager did refund my copay. It is a shame that this office is managed so bad. There is no reason why patients have to wait so many hours to see a private doctor!!!! I'm sure they don't take so long to bill the insurance!!! It is ultimately the doctors' fault.

He is in high demand, so high that he needs to find the RIGHT office manager who knows how to keep up with him and the appointments it's not his fault they are incompetent over all the office sufferes in poor COMMUNICATION and following threw.
My wife went to Ugarte for a possible cold while she was approximately 3 months pregnant. Ugarte denied medical attention for my wife after he found out she was taking medication for her reumathoid arthritis, he told her she was knowingly hurting the baby and was not going to see her. My wife had 5 Internal fetal medicine doctors aside from her obgyn, with experience, who were monitoring her medicine intake!!!! My wife went home crying uncontrollably thinking she was hurting the baby. I immediately called the office and demanded to talk to him, a nurse came back on the line and I explained to her why I needed to talk to him, she puts me on hold and then comes back saying he is doing his rounds and would be unable to talk to me. She continued to try and defend him, saying maybe my wife should go to her doctor. Took her to urgent care were they confirmed what my wife was taking with obgyn and they were able to to prescribe her some medication and got better. Our baby boy is one healthy beautiful boy, Ugarte is a horrible person and would not recommend him.
We were involved in a car accident (hit by a drunk driver) and sent to the hospital in Kingsville (HORRIBLE ER!!!!) My husband was thrown from the vehicle and released from the ER in just 5 hours!! We had a follow up with Dr. Ugarte (my husband's doctor since he was little) and he was shocked at how we were treated in the ER. He re-admitted my husband and ran more test where other major injuries were discovered that were overlooked by the ER doctor. I am grateful for Dr. Ugarte and his thoroughness. I would absolutely recommend him, because he CARES about his patients!!
this is the worst place to be in, people are rude and unprofessional, it takes forever to do anything, no follow-up, call back or whatsoever.
I recommend everybody to stay away from this office, being here we a nightmare.
